The HA tag (hemagglutinin tag) is a short linear epitope (YPYDVPDYA) derived from amino acids 98–106 of influenza A hemagglutinin. With a molecular weight of approximately 1.1 kDa, it is commonly fused to the N- or C-terminus of recombinant proteins to facilitate detection, localization, and purification when protein-specific antibodies are unavailable. Anti-HA tag antibodies specifically recognize the HA epitope and are widely used in applications such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and intracellular flow cytometry to study protein expression, topology, and protein–protein interactions.
